IBM Ventures Invests in BQP as Quantum-Algorithm Physics Acceleration Reaches Production

  • IBM Ventures has invested in BQP, bringing total funding to $8M and backing BQP’s expansion from engineering design into real-time operational decisions. The investment extends a technical relationship that began in 2023, when BQP joined the IBM Quantum Network.
  • Classical solvers leave roughly 85% of a GPU’s floating-point capacity idle. BQP’s flagship platform, BQPhy®, puts that capacity to work, resolving full-fidelity physics inside operational decision windows.
  • BQPhy® is in production with aerospace and defense customers, with contracted and committed revenue up 8x since BQP’s 2025 seed round and 3x customer growth.

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Sept. 2, 2026 — BQP, the physics acceleration company, today announced a strategic investment from IBM Ventures, the venture capital arm of IBM. The investment brings BQP’s total funding to $8M and funds BQPhy®’s expansion from engineering design into operational deployment, scaling delivery and go-to-market as BQP expands beyond aerospace and defense. Venn10 Capital and existing investor Monta Vista Capital also participated. Since its 2025 seed round, backed by New York State’s venture arm and other institutional investors, BQP has grown contracted and committed revenue 8x, tripling its customer base and growing platform users 20x.

“An engineer with a deadline doesn’t care where the answer came from. They care that it arrived in time and that the physics is right. The industry spent years treating this as a hardware problem that warranted faster chips, more of them, and eventually a quantum one. But it was always a software problem,” said Abhishek Chopra, Founder and CEO of BQP.

Chopra added: “We spent those years earning our way into engineering workflows, so when the quantum machines are ready, nothing about how those teams work has to change. That’s the path IBM has watched us build since 2023, and this investment says it’s the right one.”

Mission-critical decisions have deadlines, and high-fidelity physics simulations rarely meet them. More hardware has not closed the gap. Classical physics solvers leave roughly 85% of a GPU’s floating-point capacity idle, because the sparse iterative methods underneath simulation are bound by memory access rather than compute. Teams choose between accurate models that return the right answer too late, or fast methods that answer on time by skipping the physics, leaving hidden risk behind over-engineered safety margins.

BQPhy® removes this trade-off between speed and accuracy. Its physics-AI optimization engine resolves the full physics inside the decision window, using the GPU capacity classical solvers leave idle. The platform delivers this through two solvers that share a single SDK, integrated natively into MATLAB as a MathWorks Connections Program partner, with standard APIs for Python, Julia, and other frameworks. This enables engineers to get the answers without leaving the tools they already use. QuantumNOW™ is in production today on customers’ existing CPU and GPU infrastructure, and each deployment maps which problems belong on a QPU – making QuantumMAX™, BQP’s quantum-native solver in development, an on-ramp rather than a bet. It is written for heterogeneous CPU-GPU-QPU execution rather than a single hardware target.

“What stood out with BQP is that users don’t have to change how they work to get quantum-accelerated results. Their proven track record of developing software that helps enterprises build a practical path toward hybrid quantum-classical computing is what gives IBM Ventures confidence in making this investment,” said Emily Fontaine, Global Head of IBM Ventures.

In aerospace and defense, BQP’s furthest-along work is in space. Under an SBIR with the U.S. Space Force and SpaceWERX, extending earlier work with the SDA TAP Lab, BQPhy®’s physics AI propagates a catalog of more than 3,000 space objects in under a second, roughly 250x faster than the open-source Orekit solver by compressing the model using proprietary algorithms.BQP also holds a CRADA with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Aerospace Systems Directorate and has demonstrated BQPhy® on radio-frequency signal problems for the tactical edge with NavalX. With Modovolo, BQP built a system-level propulsion optimization for UAV mission profiles, expanding from three design variables to more than twelve and tuning propeller and motor as a single unit; integration took roughly one week through the API.

In energy, BQP is applying the same platform to commercial systems, with EV battery thermal management work funded by India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries and the Indian School of Business.

The same engine that predicts where a satellite is heading also predicts how heat moves through a battery pack or a data center rack: different industries with the same high-dimensional physics that has to resolve before the decision window closes.

QuantumNOW™ is in production; QuantumMAX™ is proving out. In work presented at USNC/TAM 2026, BQP ran QuantumMAX™ on quantum hardware for uncertainty quantification in computational fluid dynamics, reaching the same accuracy as classical Monte Carlo with fewer samples on a benchmark-scale problem. BQP’s research is published in IEEE, AIAA, and APL Quantum, with best paper awards at AeroCon 2026 and the IEEE Space, Aerospace and Defence Conference (SPACE 2026).

ThreatHunter.ai Releases MILBERT 2.1

The identity engine now reasons across users, sessions, and attack sequences — including the login that already succeeded

BREA, Calif., Sept. 2, 2026 — ThreatHunter.ai, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, today released MILBERT 2.1 for hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID. Version 2.1 adds continuous user-behavior tracking and is built to catch identity attacks that start after a successful login: adversary-in-the-middle phishing, session theft, and token replay.

MILBERT 2.1 does not treat a completed MFA challenge as proof of a legitimate user. It scores the principal, the session, and the sequence around both.

Two models, one decision

A gradient-boosted model scores each authentication event. A fine-tuned language model reads a window of events for a user or session. The language model may label an attack chain, write a short rationale, and recommend Allow, Monitor, Investigate, or Block. It does not revoke sessions or change directory state. Session kill, token revocation, and related actions stay with policy and with hunt analysts when the customer is on ARGOS.

Training used production authentication telemetry, MFA session-theft cases, and live user-behavior observations. Raw corpus counts are not being published.

What 2.1 detects

AiTM phishing and proxy MFA bypass after a valid login; stolen cookies, refresh-token abuse, and sessions replayed from attacker infrastructure; device, network, or timing that does not match the user’s baseline; backdoor accounts and service-account abuse; hybrid on-premises-to-cloud pivots; and privilege use that diverges from established behavior.

“Attackers do not break in. They log in,” said James McMurry, founder and CEO of ThreatHunter.ai. “Every incident we have worked this year started with a valid credential. MFA does not catch it when the attacker steals the session after the user finishes the prompt. Version 2.1 watches the person behind the credential, and the session after the login.”

In March 2026 the company published the first public documentation of an Iranian operational server used to pre-position against Stryker Corporation, five days before the March 11 wipe. The identity lesson is the same: the compromise often looks legitimate until the sequence is reconstructed.

A single MILBERT 2.1 instance scores more than 74,000 authentication events per second at 99.94 percent ROC-AUC on infrastructure ThreatHunter.ai owns and operates. That path is required for CMMC and FERPA customers who cannot send identity telemetry to public-cloud AI services. MILBERT is an analysis layer. It does not replace the identity provider, MFA, or Conditional Access.

MILBERT 2.1 is available now at threathunter.ai/milbert.

Capacity Raises Over $50M in Series E to Expand its Unified AI-Native Customer Experience Platform

New funding will accelerate Capacity’s next phase as enterprises consolidate AI investments around fewer, more strategic platforms

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 2, 2026 — Capacity, the agentic support automation platform, today announced more than $54M in Series E funding, bringing its total amount raised to date to over $159M. The round follows years of rapid expansion for Capacity, which surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in June, growing 20x in 3.5 years.

“We invest in people and companies that have a clear sense of purpose and the ability to execute on it,” said Kathy Ireland, a lead investor of the round. “Capacity has demonstrated both over the past year we’ve worked with them. I’ve seen firsthand the value the technology delivers, and it’s clear there is a significant opportunity ahead for Capacity.”

The investment comes as enterprises become more selective about where they spend their AI budgets. After years of experimentation with multiple point solutions, organizations are looking to consolidate their tech stacks into a platform that supports AI across the entire business and delivers measurable ROI. Capacity has been building towards this shift through continued product development, partnerships and strategic acquisitions.

“A few years ago at Capacity, we made a bet that companies would want fewer vendors,” said David Karandish, CEO and founder of Capacity. “The success of that bet is evident as we continue to grow. As enterprise AI use cases increase, so can complexities. Companies need a way to expand what AI can do without having to rebuild each time. Our train once, use everywhere approach means they can power every channel from the same foundation rather than managing a collection of standalone capabilities.”

Investing in Capacity’s Future

Capacity brings traditionally separate customer experience capabilities together through a shared platform and knowledge orchestration layer. The approach is designed to reduce the integration work required to deploy, manage and expand AI across customer support operations.

The new investment will help the company continue to build in areas such as:

Product

  • Accelerate research and development across the Capacity platform, with continued investment in AI agents, automation and enterprise knowledge orchestration.
  • Continue advancing AI solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experiences.

Customers

  • Expand go-to-market and customer success teams to support continued customer growth and adoption.

Scale

  • Invest in strategic partnerships and platform integrations to expand Capacity’s ecosystem.
  • Support continued international expansion as Capacity increases its global footprint.

In addition to the raise and its ARR milestone, Capacity also recently ranked in the top 10% of the 2026 Inc. 5000, placing it among the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. The capital will build on this momentum by deepening Capacity’s presence in key industries and continuing its global expansion.

NovaGo Therapeutics Closes USD 30 Million Series B Financing to Advance Proof-of-Concept Study in Acute Spinal Cord Injury

Round led by Neurimmune and Pureos, with participation from existing and new investors; complemented by non-dilutive funding from the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and Wings for Life – Spinal Cord Research Foundation.

SCHLIEREN, Switzerland, Sept. 2, 2026 — NovaGo Therapeutics AG, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing anti-Nogo-A biologics for diseases of the central nervous system, today announced the successful completion of a CHF 24 million (USD 30 million) Series B financing round. The round was led by Neurimmune and Pureos, with participation from existing and new investors. The equity financing is complemented by non-dilutive funding from the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and Wings for Life.

Proceeds from the financing will be used to advance NovaGo’s lead program into a proof-of-concept (PoC) study in patients with acute spinal cord injury. The study is a fully randomized, double-blind trial enrolling 120 patients across sites in Germany, Spain, and Switzerland.

Spinal cord injury remains an area of high unmet medical need. There are currently no approved regenerative treatment options that restore lost neurological function, leaving patients and their families with limited therapeutic prospects following injury. NovaGo’s approach targets Nogo-A, a protein that inhibits nerve fiber regeneration and neuroplasticity in the central nervous system, with the goal of enabling functional recovery.

“We are excited to see this program progress into this critical stage of clinical testing, bringing us a meaningful step closer to a much-needed treatment for patients living with the consequences of spinal cord injury,” said Prof. Martin Schwab, Chief Scientific Officer of NovaGo Therapeutics.

“Together with NovaGo Therapeutics, we are pioneering a novel approach for the treatment of spinal cord injury using a fully human therapeutic antibody designed to promote nerve outgrowth after injury,” said Prof. Roger M. Nitsch, President and Chief Executive Officer of Neurimmune and a member of the Board of Directors of NovaGo Therapeutics. “We are encouraged by the promising Phase 1 results with NG004 and look forward to advancing the clinical development program together with NovaGo Therapeutics and our co-investors, with generous support from the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and Wings for Life.”

“We are very pleased to co-lead this financing and support NovaGo’s next stage of development. The progress and results from the Phase 1 study in spinal cord injury are very encouraging and we see great potential to provide a new regenerative treatment option for patients with spinal cord injury,” said Dominik Escher, Managing Partner at Pureos Bioventures.

“We are deeply grateful for the backing of our investors. Support from Wings for Life and the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation have also been instrumental, helping make this crucial development phase possible.” said Stefan Moese, Chief Executive Officer of NovaGo Therapeutics. “Their commitment allows us to move forward with the proof-of-concept study and work toward bringing a much-needed treatment to patients affected by the devastating consequences of spinal cord injury.”
